Ngā Tapuwae Nuku ō Pūkenga

Ngā Tapuwae Nuku ō Pūkenga aims to consolidate and strengthen our identity as Ngāti Pūkenga by retracing the footsteps of Pūkenga with hikoi to ancient sites and the revitalisation of whakapapa, history & waiata.

We aim to achieve this by holding 5 wānanga, one at each kāinga before end of June 2019. Each kāinga will have the opportunity to host the rest of our iwi & help to retrace the footsteps of our tupuna in their rohe.

Pakikaikutu rose to the challenge of hosting the first of the 5 wānanga and what a great start that was. Post evaluation results showed an overall feeling of pride and aroha for our iwi. While the hikoi on the whenua seemed to be one of the highlights of the weekend. Many were just grateful to be learning more about our iwi and connecting with each other. Well done to our Pakikaikutu whānau for pulling off a great event!

The projects team are working with our whānau in the kāinga to plan out the remaining wananga.  Registrations will open once dates have been confirmed.  Please note: There will be a small registration fee for the next four wānanga. Travel, accommodation and kai will be provided.
Adults $10,

Under 5 are FREE.

Confirmation of dates and the link to the registration form will be placed on the Ngāti Pūkenga website
